Large-scale Moscow's Strikes Disrupt Power Across Kyiv

Energy infrastructure under attack in the region
Ukraine's energy systems have come under escalating strikes in recent weeks

Overnight, Russian missile and drone strikes have resulted in electricity outages in large parts of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv.

Nine people were hurt while residents in eastern neighborhoods were plunged into darkness and encountered disruption to water supplies, per reports from municipal leaders.

Meanwhile, a young boy was lost their life in a different aerial attack in the Zaporizhzhia region in the country's south-east, according to regional authorities.

Moscow has increased assaults on power infrastructure over the past few days, while the country's government has requested "concrete actions" from partner nations to exert influence on Moscow.

"What is required is not window dressing but firm measures - from the United States, European nations and the major economies - in delivering air defence systems and enforcing restrictions," was stated in a social media post.

He said that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and several dozen rockets struck Ukraine's energy infrastructure, characterizing such strikes as "cynical and calculated" and against "everything that sustains normal life" as temperatures become colder.

Government representatives said Russia was "inflicting a massive strike" and repair crews were laboring to fix the damage.

A wave of strikes hit power facilities and civilian homes in the capital.

Several of the people injured in the assaults on the capital have been transported for medical care, as confirmed by city authorities.

Regional authorities said the urban area came under significant strikes throughout the evening. A young boy lost their life and three other people were wounded.

The assaults follow nights of aerial attacks in the region, sections of which are currently controlled by Russian forces.

The whole nation is on alert for advanced weapon attacks, which are harder to detect.

Government officials told reporters that Moscow was purposely seeking to destroy the national power system, with strikes already impacting fuel infrastructure.

Authorities confirmed technical personnel and officials were anticipating more assaults.
